Forest Through the Trees are environmental paintings that evolve slowly through repetitive, physical, tedious hand-weathering processes on portrait linen using plant and rock-derived pigments and binders. The work aims to suggest the importance of human/nature interconnection as a way to receive peace and calm. Echoing the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi (mending broken pottery with gold), this work elicits beauty through the enhancement and preservation of its wrinkles.  Sampling of larger series shown.
